Die Ausstellung „Stories without End“ (Kochana – Monika Hanselmann) an der Evangelischen Akademie Loccum, September-Dezember 2014

Die Evangelische Akademie in Loccum führt, neben ihren Tätigkeiten als Tagungsveranstalter, im Jahr drei bis vier Ausstellungen in ihren Räumen durch. Dazu werden Künstlerinnen und Künstler eingeladen, die sich zuvor beworben haben, oder die uns empfohlen wurden. Da die Zahl der Anfragen die der möglichen Termine weit übersteigt, können nur wenige Bewerbungen verwirklicht werden.

Monika Hanselmann stellte sich in unserem Haus sehr anschaulich mit ihren Werken und der Dokumentation Ihrer Aktivitäten auf der Vollversamlung des Ökumenischen Rates in Busan vor. Die Art und Weise, wie sie ihr künstlerisches Können auf unsere christlichen Glaubensgrundsätze bezieht und daraus ihre facettenreichen und farbenfrohen, zumeist großformatigen Bilder schafft, hat dabei überzeugt. Die Andeutungen des Gegenständlichen in ihren Bildern erzählen Geschichten, die die Betrachter sofort ansprechen. Besonders interessant war für uns die Tatsache, dass die Bild- und Formensprache Hanselmanns sowohl innerhalb als auch außerhalb eines christlichen kirchlichen Kontextes ihre Wirkung entfaltet.

Eine besonders herausgehobene Stellung nahm bei uns das Bild „Domi“ ein, ein Werk, das in sehr einprägsamer Weise das Thema „Dazugehören Ausgeschlossen sein“ und „gesellschaftliche Solidarität“ thematisiert. Es passte thematisch hervorragend zu unserem inhaltlichen Schwerpunkt, der für die Zeit der Ausstellung die aktuellen Fragen der Flüchtlingsunterbringung in Deutschland und Europa darstellte. Im Rahmen einer größeren Tagung zu diesem Thema veranstalteten wir eine Andacht, die das Bild, das für die Dauer der Ausstellung in unserer Akademiekapelle aufgestellt war, in den Mittelpunkt stellte. Die Künstlerin führte anschließend in ihrer aufgeschlossenen und stets einladenden Art interessierte Besucher unseres Hauses durch die Ausstellung.

Die gemeinsame Arbeit mit Monika Hanselmann war eine große Freude für alle Beteiligten. Die Kooperation verlief immer reibungslos, und die positive, konstruktiv-kreative Art der Künstlerin färbte auf die Stimmung im Haus ab, egal ob sie nun persönlich anwesend, oder durch Ihre Bilder im Haus vertreten war. Dafür sind wir Frau Hanselmann dankbar.

The exhibition "Stories without End" (Kochana - Monika Hanselmann) at the Evangelische Akademie Loccum, September-December 2014

In addition to its activities as a conference organizer, the Evangelical Academy in Loccum organizes three to four exhibitions a year in its rooms. Artists are invited who have previously applied or who have been recommended to us. Since the number of inquiries far exceeds the possible dates, only a few applications can be implemented.

Monika Hanselmann presented herself very clearly in our house with her works and the documentation of her activities at the General Assembly of the World Council in Busan. The way in which she relates her artistic ability to our Christian principles and uses them to create her multifaceted and colorful, mostly large-format pictures was convincing. The hints of the figurative in her pictures tell stories that immediately appeal to the viewer. What was particularly interesting for us was the fact that the visual and formal language of Hanselmann developed both within and outside of a Christian / church context.

A particularly prominent position for us was the picture "Domi", a work that very memorably addresses the topic of "belonging / being excluded" and "social solidarity". Thematically, it matched our content-related focus, which for the time of the exhibition represented the current issues of refugee accommodation in Germany and Europe. As part of a larger conference on this topic, we held a prayer that focused on the image that was displayed in our academy chapel for the duration of the exhibition. The artist then led interested visitors in their open-minded and inviting mannerour house through the exhibition.

Working with Monika Hanselmann was a great pleasure for everyone involved. The cooperation was always smooth, and the positive, constructive and creative nature of the the artist rubbed off on the mood in the house, whether she was personally present or was represented by your pictures in the house. We are grateful to Mrs. Hanselmann for this.
